How to play browser games on your phone

Every game on FreeBrowserArcade runs in the browser you already have. A few settings make the experience much better on a phone.

Go fullscreen

Tap the Fullscreen button under the game (or in the pause menu). On iPhone, Safari does not allow true fullscreen for web pages; instead add the site to your home screen from the Share menu and it opens without the address bar.

Portrait or landscape

Portrait games such as Plopfuse and Lantern Hop fit a phone held upright. Landscape games like Oinkick ask you to turn the phone sideways; unlock rotation in your quick settings first.

Sound

Browsers only start audio after your first tap, so sound begins when you press Play. The speaker button in the top-right corner mutes everything and remembers your choice.

Saving

Scores and progress are saved in your browser. Private or incognito windows throw them away when you close them, so use a normal tab if you want your best scores to stick.

Data use

A game downloads between one and three megabytes the first time and is cached afterwards. Idle games such as Burrow Mart keep earning while the tab is closed, so you do not need to leave them open.
